A filling is a dental procedure that involves the dentist removing decayed portions of the tooth and filling it in with another material. After using a local anesthetic, Dr. Cardon will clean out the decayed potions of the tooth and fill it using a natural, tooth-colored, composite. Our Table Mountain Dental team only uses the best, highest quality dental materials. For several hours after your dental visit, patients may experience numbness, tingling, itching, or puffiness while the anesthetic is metabolized by your body.
Once the numbing agent has worn off and in the coming few days, some patients may experience tooth sensitivity. Most of the time, this sensitivity is normal and will wear off in a few days or possibly weeks.
