ClearCorrect is a brand of invisible braces offered by cosmetic dentists at our practice. These braces consist of a series of clear plastic aligners that fit over your teeth. Each aligner shifts your teeth slightly, moving them closer to the desired position.

What Are ClearCorrect Clear Aligners?

ClearCorrect is clear braces that straighten your teeth without disrupting the appearance of your smile. The plastic aligner trays fit snugly over your teeth, exerting gentle pressure to shift your teeth into place over time. Unlike traditional metal braces or ceramic braces, clear aligners are virtually invisible when worn and do not irritate your mouth. As a result, patients can enjoy the confidence-boosting benefits of a straighter smile without the self-consciousness associated with wearing braces.

Wear the trays for a minimum of twenty to twenty-two hours a day so that there is enough pressure on teeth to shift them into place. Remove the trays while eating, drinking anything but water, brushing, flossing, and during contact sports.

How Do They Work?

The idea behind the clear aligner is that the patient will switch trays every two weeks or so, each time slipping into the next tray in the series. These aligners are worn for most of the day for maximum effectiveness but will mostly be removed during meals and when brushing and flossing. They should be removed before vigorous tooth brushing in order to avoid damaging the aligners themselves.

Over time, these aligners can straighten the teeth and correct bite problems without the need for more invasive forms of treatment, such as porcelain veneers or metal braces. They’re also more comfortable and convenient than either of those options because the aligners can be removed at any time. However, it’s important to remember that while they’re removable and not fixed in place like traditional braces, they still require the same amount of effort and diligence on the part of the patient in order to reap the full benefits of the aligner.

Once the patient has been wearing the final tray in the series for about two months, they will be able to see just how much their teeth have been moved in the right direction. At this point, the dentist will take impressions of the teeth so that the lab can create a set of custom retainers. Depending on the severity of the misalignment, some patients may only need to wear these retainers at night, while others may need to wear them all the time in order to maintain their new smile. Regular dental checkups are still recommended in order for a dentist to monitor the health of the teeth and gums and ensure that everything is going according to plan.
